Agentforce Coworker: what it does and what to check first
Agentforce Coworker is Salesforce's autonomous AI teammate: you ask in plain language, it searches CRM records, Slack and other connected sources, then builds a plan and executes it, calling other agents when needed. It opened in beta in May 2026 and Salesforce now lists it as generally available.

What it does
- Answers across sources. Questions about accounts, deals or cases are answered from CRM data, Slack conversations and connected systems.
- Plans and acts. For a request such as "prepare the renewal for this account", it builds a plan and executes the steps, handing parts to other agents.
- Lives where people work. Inside Salesforce, and through integrations in Slack; some coverage also mentions Microsoft Teams and ChatGPT.
For sellers, the closest equivalent outside Salesforce is the Salesforce in Claude plugin. Coworker runs inside Salesforce's platform and billing; the plugin runs inside Claude.
What to settle before turning it on
Gartner's August note is worth taking literally: the two risks are spend and data access.
- Spend. Outside Max, Agentforce usage is bought per user or in Flex Credits. Estimate a month of actions with the Agentforce cost estimator before enabling it for a whole team.
- Data access. An agent that searches Slack and CRM can surface anything the user can see. Review sharing rules and Slack channel access first.
- Data quality. A plan built on stale close dates and empty next steps is a confident plan built on the wrong facts.
Where it fits for sales managers
Coworker is strong at doing tasks on request. It is not, by design, a nightly scorecard of every rep's pipeline. Managers who want that view every morning, without asking, still need a report, a dashboard or a dedicated tool. Read the broader picture in our Agentforce review and the Claudeforce guide.
